Meet Our Executive Council
Our Executive Council consists of 11 Superintendents who lead our departments and schools throughout the city of Ottawa. Guided by our Director and Associate Director of Education, they play a crucial role in ensuring our schools are safe places for your child to learn, grow and discover their God-given potential.

Mary Donaghy became the Director of Education for the Ottawa Catholic School Board on July 1, 2025. She brings more than 30 years of experience in Catholic education. She has served as a teacher, Department Head, Vice-Principal, Principal, Superintendent, and most recently, Associate Director of Education.
Mary is known for her thoughtful decision-making, collaborative style, and steady leadership. She has supported student learning, staff development, and creating inclusive, welcoming school communities throughout her career. She played a key role in the Board’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and has helped guide initiatives in curriculum renewal, early learning, special education, and policy development.
As Director, Mary is focused on building strong relationships with students, staff, families, Trustees, parish leaders, and community partners. She is committed to supporting student and staff well-being, strengthening Catholic identity, and encouraging innovation through Deep Learning and the responsible use of AI in education.
A proud parent of three OCSB graduates, Mary brings both a professional and personal understanding of our school system. She has also volunteered in schools, the community, and at her parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary. Her leadership is grounded in care, experience, and a deep belief in the mission of Catholic education.
Mary holds a Master’s Degree in Education and additional qualifications in Special Education, Religious Education, and Leadership.
