All Regular Board meetings are open to the public. Closed Committee of the Whole sessions are held prior to the Regular Board meeting when required and in accordance with Section 207 (2) of the Education Act.

We kindly ask that all guests respect standards of decorum, civility and propriety while attending our meetings. Guests of the meeting who are not presenting should remain seated behind the presentation table when admitted to the Board Room. These guidelines are available to you prior to the meeting in an effort to promote and maintain an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

Our Board of Trustees welcomes constructive input during our public Board meetings. Two ways you can share your voice are by registering as a delegation or by registering as a Delegation without slides (formerly called a Public Session).

Registering as a Delegation Without Slides

Registering as a Delegation Without Slides

This is a verbal presentation to the Board that does not include any slides or visuals.  This presentation is 3 minutes in length or less. A written request to delegate without a formal presentation must be received no later than Monday at noon, the day prior to the Board meeting. A copy of the speaking notes and all key points to be addressed must be included as part of the application process. Presenters must submit a written request, along with key speaking notes, to the Executive Assistant to the Director at Director@ocsb.ca.

In-person presenters will be asked to come forward in order of names appearing on the sign-in sheet located in the waiting room.

Virtual presenters will receive a link to join the meeting and will be unmuted and introduced when it is your turn to address the Board of Trustees.

Registering as a Delegation

Registering as a Delegation

This is a formal presentation that includes a slide deck or other visuals used during the presentation. Delegations are 5 minutes in length or less.  Delegations must complete the Delegation Registration Form, and submit it along with any slides at a minimum of 7 days in advance of a Board meeting. Submissions are sent to the Executive Assistant to the Director at Director@ocsb.ca or by mail to Catholic Education Centre, 570 West Hunt Club Road, Nepean, ON K2G 3R4.

A delegation can be made up of a maximum of two people. A maximum of six delegations is allowed at each meeting. However, the Chairperson has the discretion to allow for additional presenters or grant an extension of presentation time.

The minutes of the Board meeting will include the title of the presentation along with the name of the presenter and the email contact information of the presenter.
