This week’s #ocsbFridayFeeling is about the kind of pride that comes not from individual achievement alone, but from showing up and giving your best to something larger than yourself.
On the basketball court, students played with heart. Their teamwork and sportsmanship spoke volumes, not just about their skill, but about the kind of people they are becoming. In classrooms, students were finding their voices and sharing them with the world. One classroom prepared to lead a podcast workshop. Young social entrepreneurs brought their ideas to life and demonstrated what global citizenship looks like in action. A writing club wrapped up another year, leaving behind a room full of students who now know the power of putting words on a page.
Community also means celebrating each other. A Middle Eastern cultural performance filled a school with music, movement, and the joy of being seen. When students share their cultures and stories with one another, something important happens. The community grows a little wider and a little richer.
In the garden, students swapped the gym for the outdoors, digging, lifting, and laughing together. In the math classroom, they worked through problems side by side. On the tennis court, they tried something brand new and found out that trying together is half the fun.
