The theme for this year’s Catholic Education week is: Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness.
A pilgrim is someone committed to taking a spiritual journey to a sacred place. In a way, our life is like a pilgrimage. Along the journey, every pilgrim faces challenges that require commitment and perseverance, much like the obstacles we encounter in life. These experiences ultimately help us grow stronger and wiser.
Being a Pilgrim of Hope means living our daily life rooted in the knowledge that God loves each of us and has a special plan for our lives. Hope is a gift from God. As we trust in Him, we become excited about what the future holds. How we live in hope and share that hope is our gift back to God.
To be on the Path to Holiness means trying to be the best version of ourselves with God’s help. As we walk with God, we learn how to love like Him, and this makes us want to act with kindness, goodness, and love.
This week, as Pilgrims of Hope on the Path to Holiness we’ll walk in one Spirit with pilgrims from all across Ontario who are also celebrating Catholic Education Week. Through our daily reflections, prayers, and actions we will open our hearts to God’s wisdom
Grounded in Faith Each Day
Throughout the week, our schools will focus on five daily prayer intentions:
- Let our hearts be filled with peace.
- Let our souls rest in the peace of God’s unwavering love.
- Let our minds dwell in the peace and promise of Christ.
- Let the Spirit’s presence guide our hearts and strengthen our steps.
- Let us walk in peace, side by side with one another.
A Shared Provincial Experience
On May 6, students across Ontario are invited to take part in Ontario Catholic Student Youth Day.
Students in Grades 7 to 12 will join others from across the province for a day of learning, prayer, and community. Through guest speakers and the celebration of Mass, they are reminded they are part of something bigger than their own school.
Join the Celebration
We invite families and our broader community to take part in this week.
Share your stories, your photos, and your moments of hope using #CathEdWeek.
Catholic education does not stop at the classroom door. It continues in our homes, our parishes, and in how we care for one another.
Continuing the Year
Catholic Education Week is one week in the school year.
What it represents is part of everyday.
We walk together.
We support one another.
We keep moving forward with hope.
And if you are looking for hope, spend a day in one of our schools. You will find it pretty quickly.
