Transportation changes due to driver shortage

The Ottawa School Transportation Authority (OSTA) who provides transportation services for our school board has just announced changes to their services that may impact your family.

What’s changing?

Some grade 7-12 students will be transitioned to public transit, and some yellow bus routes will be changed and or cancelled as of Monday, September 14.

What should parents do?

Check the OSTA Parent Portal for your child’s route information and then visit the OSTA website to find out if your child’s route has been cancelled.

OSTA is working with its operators and OC Transpo to find creative solutions to provide service to as many students as possible during these unprecedented circumstances. Many parents will likely need to find alternative transportation to get their children to school for the next few weeks until services stabilize.

What will happen to vans and wheelchair buses?

Vans and wheelchair buses will continue their rolling start-up schedule. Once routes are finalized, van and wheelchair bus drivers will contact families. OSTA thanks you for your continued patience during these challenging times.
