Rudhro Prince’s kindness continues to impact OCSB students today.
Each year, the Rudhro Prince Friendship Award recognizes students who show the qualities Rudhro was known for: kindness, friendship, compassion, and ensuring others feel included. It is a meaningful way for his family to keep Rudhro’s memory alive while encouraging those same qualities in a new generation of students.
That connection with the OCSB continues on Sunday, September 27, when the Prince family hosts the 8th Annual Rudhro Prince Memorial Walk at Andrew Haydon Park.
The annual 1 km and 5 km walk/run brings families and the community together in Rudhro’s memory while raising awareness about asthma, its potential severity, and supporting children’s health.
Over the years, many OCSB students have received the Rudhro Prince Friendship Award. While they may never have known Rudhro, they have something important in common with him. They understand what it means to be a good friend, to include others and to show kindness in the everyday moments that can make a real difference in someone’s life.
This year’s walk is an opportunity to celebrate that spirit of friendship and community. Past and present Friendship Award recipients, along with all OCSB students, staff and families, are invited to join the Prince family on September 27 and help continue a legacy that has become very special to our OCSB community.

The walk is designed to be a fun morning for the whole family, with a DJ, face painting, henna, a bouncy castle and more.
More importantly, it is a chance to come together in Rudhro’s memory and celebrate the kindness and friendship that continue to be at the heart of his legacy.
For OCSB families, those qualities will be familiar. We see them every day when students include others, look out for one another and make someone feel like they belong.
We hope our students, staff and families will join the Prince family on September 27 to remember Rudhro, raise awareness about asthma, support children’s health and continue the legacy of kindness he left behind.
