Reflecting on the Impact of the October 7th Events: A Call for Peace, Prayer, and Healing

Today, we pause to reflect on the tragic events and loss of life that have occurred over the past year in regions of conflict, particularly in the Middle East, Ukraine, and beyond. Many innocent lives, including children, have been affected by violence and war, leaving deep scars on communities across the globe.

At the Ottawa Catholic School Board, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and compassionate community where dialogue and understanding can flourish. As we pray for peace and seek solutions, we also recognize the importance of creating safe and respectful spaces within our schools where differing viewpoints are acknowledged and everyone feels valued.

We encourage our students, staff, and families to engage in meaningful conversations that promote healing and unity. Through prayer, dialogue, and acts of kindness, we can continue to build bridges of understanding, open doors to new beginnings, and support one another through challenging times.

Together, let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a world where peace prevails and every voice is heard.
