We’re Counting Down to September 1
Summer has a funny way of slipping by.
One day, you’re celebrating the last bell in June. The next, there’s a backpack sitting by the front door and a calendar reminding you that school starts the following week!
The countdown has begun. In just seven days, more than 52,000 students will walk through the doors of Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) schools, ready for another year of learning, faith and discovery!
Preparing for a New Beginning
While schools have been closed, our OCSB team has been working diligently behind the scenes, prepping for the arrival of the new school year. Hallways have been polished. Classrooms are taking shape. Teachers are putting the finishing touches on lessons they’ll soon bring to life, while office staff, caretakers, educational assistants, early childhood educators, principals, and support staff prepare to welcome students back!
New beginnings are about more than just the environment, though. Hallways will soon be flooded with many returning, familiar students, but there will also be new faces in the mix, excited for their first day.
At the OCSB, we want to make the transition back to the school year as easy as possible for you and your little one by providing quick access to key resources. Whether your child is a new student or returning and you need a refresher on processes after a relaxing summer, we’re happy to ease you into the bustle of September.
More Than Learning
At the OCSB, education is about so much more than report cards and assignments; it’s about community, kindness and heart. Every day is an opportunity for students to discover the unique God-given gifts, strengthen their faith, care for others and become the people they are called to be. Those moments happen in classrooms, on playgrounds, on school stages, on athletic fields and in quiet conversations that remind students they are seen, valued and loved.
The first bell is only seven days away. We can’t wait to open our doors, welcome you back and begin another year of faith, learning and community together. We’ll see you soon!
