At the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB), we are reminded every day that supporting students takes a community. Behind so many student success stories are people and organizations quietly stepping up to help families, remove barriers, and create opportunities for children to thrive.
This month, we want to recognize one of our incredible community partners whose generosity and care continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of OCSB students and families.
The Power of Partnership
The Outliers RC
Co-founded by a retired OCSB teacher, this incredible local non-profit lives by a simple but powerful motto:
“It’s all about the children.”
The Outliers RC works year-round to help ensure financial barriers do not stand in the way of student success. Since January, they have delivered more than 180 backpacks filled with essential school supplies directly to our Children Support Schools (CSS) and Family Welcome Centre.
From pencil cases and notebooks to high school calculators and classroom essentials, these backpacks help students feel prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
A Community That Cares
We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and generosity. Their support helps ensure students feel welcomed, supported, and cared for both inside and outside the classroom.
Their work reflects what it means to Be Community and reminds us that when schools, families, and community partners work together, students benefit in meaningful and lasting ways.
