OCSB students soar in French competitions

Students studying French at the Ottawa Catholic School Board soared in various provincial and national French contests throughout the 2021-2022 school year. Let’s take a moment to give these bright students and their supportive educators a shout-out for their impressive achievements!

Olivia Coady – All Saints High School

Olivia placed 3rd in Ontario for the 2022 provincial Concours d’art oratoire in the Extended French Category this year. Her speech, Arriverons-nous un jour à l’égalité? not only claimed the provincial bronze but also earned her a spot at the national championships.

Ashley Ahadjitse – St. Peter High School

Ashley was selected as one of only 33 Canadians to be an Ambassador for Le Forum national des jeunes ambassadeurs in Regina this August. She will join other grade 10 and 11 students from across the country for interactive workshops and activities centered on the significance of bilingualism in Canada.

Léonie Lado – St. Paul High School

Léonie wowed the judges with her passionate and beautifully articulated speech, Les stéréotypes à propos de l’Afrique. She claimed 1st place in Ontario and 2nd in all of Canada in the Francophone category.

Success on the national stage seems to come easy to this bright St. Paul student! Earlier this year, Léonie was featured in our story St. Paul Student wins national French Radio-Canada contest.
