OCSB Schools Closed to In-Person Learning Monday, January 17

The Ottawa Catholic School Board will not reopen tomorrow, Monday, January 17, 2022, for in-person learning due to an anticipated significant snowstorm. We made the decision following the City of Ottawa’s announcement this evening encouraging all non-essential travel to be postponed. We apologize for the late notice.

This means that all OCSB schools will shift to remote learning for all students on Monday, January 17, 2022. This includes students in specialized education program classes. Depending on weather conditions, we hope to return to in-person learning on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Our educators will do their best tomorrow. However, most had planned for a day of in-person learning, so a transition to a full synchronous learning day may need to be adapted. Our educators will check in with their students tomorrow using Google Meet and learning activities will be available on the Learning Management System.

Student Transportation

Weather permitting, Ottawa Student Transportation will resume on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Child Care and Extended Day Program

Child Care facilities and extended day programs housed within our schools will be open on Tuesday, January 18, to welcome families back.
