St. Clare Staff Energize Terry Fox Fundraiser with Creativity

The creative (not to mention courageous!) staff at St. Clare School in Orleans kicked off the year with a school fundraiser for the Terry Fox Foundation that has generated an impressive $4680 and counting. How did they do it? By putting their hair on the line!

Brendan Moriarty is a Grade 5 & 6 Teacher at St. Clare who convinced more of his colleagues to join him in shaving off their beards and cutting their hair for a great cause. The educators came up with a tiered fundraiser to inspire the school to donate. The more money the school raises, the more beards get shaved off!

The St. Clare community was eager to see these men shave off their beards, raising their first $2400 in one night. Grade 1 Teacher Kyla Marchant couldn’t let the guys have all the fun, so she jumped in, putting her hair on the line for Terry Fox as well! Congratulations to this incredible team of educators at St. Clare school who truly put the “fun” in fundraising.
