For many families in the Ottawa Catholic School Board, 2020 was a very difficult year. From August to December of 2020, families from 83 OCSB schools accessed $73,896 in emergency response funds from the Catholic Education Foundation of Ottawa (CEFO). These crucial funds helped put food on the table, keep the lights and the heat on in their homes, purchase eyeglasses for their children, and a myriad of other necessities. Today, we’re inviting parents in our community who can join us in our 2021 campaign to make 2021 a better year, filled with hope.
Two ways to make a difference
1 Donate. By making a donation of $20.21 or more to CEFO this week, you can help alleviate the devastating impact poverty has on another family in our community. It takes at least 13 donations of $20.21 to meet an emergency need through CEFO but could take up to 50 donations depending on the request. Every little bit helps.
2 Spread the word. Share this page on your social media channels. CEFO is a recognized charitable organization that makes a difference in your child’s school community. They are always welcoming new corporate sponsors or special one-time donations. Tax receipts are issued for donations of $25 and over.
