Get involved in your child’s education

Did you know student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their child’s education? Studies prove it, and we believe it! There are many ways you can get involved with your child’s education, which one works best for you?

Volunteer at an OCSB school

Parent volunteers are an important part of our OCSB family. They help our students learn, play and explore and are valuable contributors in making our schools welcoming and safe learning communities.

Join your School Council

School Council members provide input and advice to the Principal on topics such as:

  • school code of conduct
  • school curriculum and program goals
  • input to the Board on key attributes for future Principal placements at the school
  • school budget priorities
  • school-parent communication strategies
  • activities to promote student engagement and well-being

Visit your school website or contact your Principal to learn more about the school council at your child’s school.
