It’s week two, and we’re already off and running! 🏃📚 This week’s #ocsbFridayFeeling is packed with creativity and connection as students dive into new learning, get back into familiar routines and find plenty of ways to explore, collaborate and have a little (or a lot of) fun along the way.
Curiosity was everywhere this week. Students explored symmetry through nature, used clues to build a ‘Hundreds Chart’, imagined what a scientist looks like and put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work through outdoor play. Others collaborated on land acknowledgements and deepened their understanding of Indigenous perspectives through teachings about plant medicines and smudging.
Faith also provided a foundation for the year ahead as students explored believing, knowing and trusting, and reflected on the peace and comfort that faith can bring. Meanwhile, some of our youngest learners celebrated new friendships, danced together and proudly crowned themselves the ‘kings and queens’ of Kindergarten!
As we Nourish New Beginnings this year, weeks like this remind us how much possibility lives in the everyday moments of learning. A question asked, an idea tested, a new friendship formed or a different perspective explored can lead somewhere unexpected. And with a whole school year ahead, we can’t wait to see where they go next. 🌱
