Friday Feeling | Moments That Shape Deeper Learning

This week’s #ocsbFridayFeeling captured learning that was active, meaningful, and deeply connected to students’ experiences. Across our schools, classrooms and outdoor spaces became places where curiosity led the way, questions were encouraged, and students applied their thinking in engaging ways.

Learning unfolded through exploration and problem solving. Students stepped into the role of coders, guiding Beebots (small, programmable robots) with persistence as they tested ideas and learned from mistakes. In the science lab, students experimented with chemistry materials, and applied their hands-on thinking.

Winter adventures added energy and challenge to the week. Snowshoeing and climbing invited students to try something new, adapt to changing conditions, and support one another along the way. Outdoors and indoors, learning felt real, physical, and shared.

Together, these moments reflect the kind of Deep Learning we value across our school communities. It’s learning that builds critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and compassion, and helps students carry their skills and confidence beyond the classroom and into the world around them. As Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus would say, “Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!” 👩‍🔬❄️✨
