At the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB), we believe that every student deserves the chance to discover their unique path to success—and Sarah Abrams has been a guiding force behind that mission. This year, her dedication was recognized when she received the prestigious Phil Hedges Award from the Ontario School Counsellors’ Association (OSCA), honouring her outstanding contributions to student guidance and career education.
From 2019 to 2024, Sarah played a pivotal role as OCSB’s Educational Consultant, Guidance and Pathways, where she supported school guidance counsellors and promoted pathways programs designed to help every student find their way to graduation and beyond. Whether helping students explore career options or navigate post-secondary plans, Sarah ensured no one was left behind.
Now, in her new role as Coordinator of Specialized Pathways, Sarah is focused on developing innovative programs that give students even more opportunities to thrive. While she may no longer work directly with guidance counsellors, her influence continues to shape programs that open doors for students, empowering them to succeed on their own terms.
The Phil Hedges Award celebrates Sarah’s passion and commitment, but it also reflects the values we hold dear at OCSB—ensuring every student has a path forward.
Join us in congratulating Sarah Abrams, whose visionary leadership continues to pave the way for brighter futures at OCSB.
