The Ministry of Education unveiled the province’s education budget, renamed Core Education Funding, Responsive Education Programs and Funding to External Partners. The new funding model aims to identify the essential funding pillars that support students, from classroom staffing to school board administration. These changes have been made to enhance accountability and transparency in allocating and spending funds.
The Ministry developed a two-page summary document to support its goal of transparency to parents. It is intended to provide a general overview of how Ontario funds schools. A detailed statement can be found at ontario.ca/SchoolFunding.
