Celebrating 15 Years of Service to Catholic Education: Trustee Joanne MacEwan

Fifteen years of dedication to Catholic education is certainly something worth celebrating!

OCSB Trustee Joanne MacEwan has received her 15-year service pin, recognizing the time, energy and heart she has devoted to our students, families and school communities.

Joanne’s connection to Catholic education goes back even further than her years as a Trustee. Before joining the Board, she was already making a difference as Co-Chair of the Catholic School Parents’ Association and Chair of the Board’s Parent Involvement Committee.

Joanne’s early commitment to giving parents a voice has remained a key aspect of her work. As the Trustee for Zone 5, which includes Orléans West-Innes and Beacon Hill-Cyrville, she has consistently supported the families and school communities she knows so well. Joanne will continue to represent her constituents, having been acclaimed in the 2026 Municipal Election.

A Commitment That Goes Beyond the Board Table

Over the years, Joanne has served as Vice-Chair of the Board in 2016 and 2017 and contributed to several important committees, bringing her experience and perspective to decisions affecting students and families.

Her involvement also extends to the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA), where she has taken on several leadership roles, including President. It’s another example of the many ways Joanne has contributed to the everyday experiences of students and families.

Board Chair Mark Mullan joined in presenting Joanne with her 15-year service pin, recognizing an important milestone and the many contributions she has made along the way. “Congratulations, Joanne! Thank you for 15 years of service, for the care you bring to your work and for continuing to make a difference in our OCSB community.”
