This week’s #ocsbFridayFeeling was all about Nourishing New Beginnings and fall discoveries.
One group of students marked the first day of autumn with apple tastings—sharing their favourite varieties and charting the results together. Other classrooms came alive with creativity—trees were drawn in brilliant fall colours, or chalk drawings allowed students to express their emotions in playful, seasonal ways.
Fall also brought new opportunities to learn and explore. From discovering letters, numbers, and colours (some en français!) to the excitement of the first Library Day and choosing books to bring home, curiosity was in full bloom. Students at one school even observed the life cycle of a butterfly firsthand—caring for a caterpillar in class, watching its transformation, and then gently releasing it into the autumn sky.
As the leaves begin to turn, our students remind us that every season brings a chance to grow, connect, and see the world in vibrant colour.
