The Catholic Education Foundation of Ottawa (CEFO), in partnership with the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB), is thrilled to announce the winner of our 50/50 raffle, held on Friday, March 28, 2025. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the draw raised an amazing $47,575. Half of that—$23,785—went to our lucky winner, Brianna Glancy, a proud parent of a student at St. Cecilia School. The other half will directly support OCSB students and families facing financial hardship.
But this draw was about more than just the prize—it was about people coming together to make a real difference. Every ticket purchased, every social media share, and every act of kindness helped lift up those who needed it most.
CEFO’s Mission: Supporting Students in Need
For more than twenty years, CEFO has been a lifeline for students facing personal and financial challenges. In our city, over 15,000 children visit food banks every month. Many face health concerns and lack access to basic necessities—things most of us take for granted.
Thanks to your support, CEFO continues to help students access food, clothing, shelter, and a sense of belonging.
One of CEFO’s most important initiatives is the Emergency Response Fund, which provides immediate relief to families dealing with illness, job loss, or unexpected crises. Just last year, this fund provided over $232,000 in urgent support to 1,344 families, covering everything from groceries to transportation.
CEFO also invests in long-term student success. In the past decade, more than $2 million has gone into OCSB schools through programs that build literacy, numeracy, mental health, and physical well-being. Initiatives like Bridging the Language Gap and Knitting for Mental Health and Wellness help students grow both academically and personally.
Every summer, CEFO sends over 160 children to camp, offering fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
