St. Francis Xavier High School Students Learn About How They Can Make A Difference!

St. Francis Xavier (St. FX) Catholic High School will participate in a presentation on organ and tissue donation on Monday, December 18. This presentation is a part of the High School Outreach Initiative (HSOI) project launched in collaboration with the Transplant Institute of the University of Toronto and the Trillium Gift of Life Network.

Learning Happens Everywhere

Students at St. FX will have the chance to hear from world-class healthcare professionals about organ and tissue donation and transplantation in a high school setting. These presentations allow students to see how science and technology can unite to enhance and even save people’s lives.

Did You Know?

Did you know that you have the power to save up to eight lives and improve the quality of life for 75 others by becoming an organ and tissue donor? Despite those staggering statistics, every three days, someone in Ontario dies due to the lack of available organs for transplantation.

There is Hope!

Despite the challenges, there is always hope, and this project is a unique step in the right direction. The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) encourages its students to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to local and global issues through partnerships.

And who could be better at spreading the message of the need for transplant donors than inquiring students?
