St. Matthew SHSM Students Make it their Business to Win!

At St. Matthew High School, students can explore career options through our Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) program while still in high school. Those enrolled in the Business SHSM are gaining a competitive edge by applying their classroom knowledge in the Ontario Business Educators’ Association (OBEA) contest.

This Year’s OBEA Winner

Congratulations to Chace Burke-Black, a Grade 11 student at St. Matthew High School, for winning first place in the OBEA’s 2023 Video Contest. The competition required students to create a 30-45 second promotional video that encourages other students to take Business courses in secondary school. In his winning video, Chace emphasizes the practical application of business classes in the real world by stating, “In business, you actually do what you’re taught.”
