Our annual Catholic Education Week Mass was held in person for the first time in two years on Tuesday, May 3, at the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica in downtown Ottawa. Most Reverend Archbishop Marcel Damphousse presided over the Celebration of the Eucharist.
The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week is Restore. Rebuild. Renew. Together in Gratitude. The Archbishop did a beautiful job of connecting this important theme with the mission of Catholic education. He encouraged us all to consider the path of Gratitude as we live our daily lives, spreading the hope and joy of Christ to everyone we encounter.
Following the Mass was the presentation of the Director of Education Commendation Awards, presented to outstanding role models in the Ottawa Catholic School Board. See this year’s recipients in our Director of Education Commendations Booklet and Facebook album.
Congratulations and thank you to all of these people who demonstrate devotion and service in Catholic Education!
