Holy Trinity Brings East High to Life with High School Musical Jr.

A Story That Unites Us All

What happens when you mix basketballs, brainiacs, bold dreams, and a whole lot of heart? You get a musical event that’s about to light up the stage at Holy Trinity Catholic School (Intermediate). This talented group of Grade 7 and 8 students has poured months of dedication, creativity, and teamwork into bringing Disney’s High School Musical Jr. to life—a production that celebrates breaking barriers, embracing individuality, and shining together as one.

A Production Years in the Making

This isn’t just another school play. It’s the first Intermediate production of this scale at Holy Trinity, and it’s been months in the making. Students auditioned in November, were cast in December, and devoted countless after-school hours, lunch breaks, and even Saturdays to bring High School Musical Jr. to life. Directors and educators Andrew Arcello and Meghan Beanlands, supported by professional sound, lighting, and props experts, have given students an authentic taste of professional theatre. This experience will shape them for years to come.

A Stage Like No Other

When you step into Holy Trinity’s gym, you won’t just be sitting in the audience—you’ll be transported right into the world of East High. The stage is being built into the audience, breaking the traditional divide and inviting everyone to be part of the action. The atrium will transform into a nostalgic high school fair, setting the scene for a night of music, laughter, and inspiration.

Why You Can’t Miss This Show

  • Unbelievable Talent: The Grade 7 and 8 students have risen to the challenge, delivering performances that rival seasoned theatre troupes. Their transformation into confident, committed musical theatre players is nothing short of inspiring.
  • A Message for Today: High School Musical Jr. isn’t just fun—it’s a celebration of breaking barriers, supporting each other, and daring to dream. It’s a story that reminds us all: “We’re all in this together.”
  • A Community Effort: This production is a testament to the power of teamwork—students, staff, families, and volunteers all coming together to create something unforgettable.

More Than a Musical—A Movement

This production is a shining example of what happens when students are given the space to grow, express themselves, and work as a team. The lessons learned on stage—perseverance, empathy, faith, and friendship—extend far beyond the final curtain call.

As Directors Andrew Arcello and Meghan Beanlands share:

“We hope that we all walk away renewed with some of the lessons that High School Musical teaches us: the ‘status quo’ was meant to be broken, you’re not meant to be a one-dimensional character, communicate what is best for you, you’re capable of more than you think you are, a real friend is in your court no matter what, don’t be afraid to go after your dreams, and surround yourself with people who believe ‘We’re all in This Together.'”
