There’s no better way to learn about a place, culture, or subject than by experiencing it firsthand. St. Nicholas Adult High School partners with EduTravel to provide exciting opportunities for our OCSB high school students to learn while embarking on a memorable adventure. This year, we are offering March Break and Summer trips where students will be fully immersed in their course of study in a fun, informative, and safe manner, headed by passionate educators across the world.

March Break Program
We are pleased to offer a World Religions Trip to New York City during March Break. Students will learn about life in a multicultural, multi-faith city with visits to the United Nations, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, Ganesh Temple, Apollo Theatre, and more!
NEWLY ADDED! Students also have the opportunity to join the International Business Trip to New York City this March Break! From the Museum of American Finance to the Newark Harbor, students will learn how New York City became a global centre for business. With visits to the United Nations Headquarters to learn about global economic development, to exploring the storied streets of Lower Manhattan, students will discuss the significance of Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and Ground Zero. This NYC experience is also booming with entertainment, including Broadway, the Apollo Theatre, and the jazzy Cotton Club!
Summer Program
Secondary students have the opportunity to earn a full credit on the Civics & Career Studies Trip to Toronto, Niagara Falls and New York City this summer, offered in English and French. Students can learn about the role Canada plays in an increasingly interconnected global community and how their career choices can allow them to have a meaningful impact on the world. They will experience campaign speeches, photojournalism, and financial literacy, along with fun nights at a Broadway show in NYC and more!

Benefits of the educational travel program
March Break and Summer travel programs take students beyond the classroom on educational tours that are designed to instill within them a sense of wonder and excitement about whatever topic they’re studying. Students come back more mature, motivated, and excited to learn. As an added bonus, they’ve made friends and memories that will last a lifetime.
Last summer, students who attended the Civics & Careers trip to Toronto and NYC saw how their career choices could positively impact the world and formed their definition of what it means to be a “citizen.” The trip included many exciting activities, such as visiting the War Museum, the CN Tower, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, watching the Broadway show Harry Potter, and touring the United Nations. Scott Searle, a History Teacher and the Head of the Contemporary Studies Department at Immaculata High School, accompanied the students on their trip and shared that it was a unique opportunity for them to learn through firsthand experiences. “The trip enabled the students to better understand the curriculum expectations by exposing them to careers at the United Nations and civics at Queens Park. It was a fantastic chance for the students to learn more about themselves, develop their relationships, build resilience, and gain valuable travel experience while earning a credit.”
