At the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB), we believe student voice matters. When students are given the opportunity to share what they believe and how they live their faith, something meaningful happens. Faith becomes personal. Creativity becomes a form of witness. Community grows stronger.
OCSB Student Trustees, Chiara Frangione and Jayden Gnanapragasam, are putting that belief into action through a new student-led initiative: Faith Through Expression.
This project invites students to reflect on what their faith means to them and to share their journey in meaningful, creative, and uniquely their own ways.
What is ‘Faith Through Expression’?
Rooted in our Catholic identity, Faith Through Expression encourages students to explore their relationship with Christ through art, prayer, storytelling, and digital media.
It recognizes that faith is expressed in many different ways. It can be quiet or bold. Traditional or contemporary. Personal or shared.
This initiative creates space for students to engage with their spirituality in ways that feel authentic, while strengthening connections across our schools.
Faith Through Expression is designed to:
- Elevate and empower student voice through faith.
- Foster inclusive opportunities that welcome diverse expressions of Catholic identity.
- Use digital creativity to inspire others and build community across OCSB.
How to Participate
Students from all grades are invited to submit multimodal projects such as videos, visual art, written reflections, prayers, music, or other creative works that reflect their faith journey.
How to Submit: OCSB Students (all grades) can submit their work through this Google Form.
Catholic Education Week Showcase
Selected projects will be featured during Catholic Education Week, May 3 to 8, 2026, in celebration of this year’s theme, Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness.
Through creativity, courage, and faith, our students continue to lead not only in their classrooms but also in their communities. Faith Through Expression is one more way we are opening doors, building bridges, and nourishing new beginnings together.
