Our Kindergarten Open House Nights offer the opportunity to explore what lies ahead for your little one in their educational journey.
Whether you’re a parent just beginning to explore your options or you’ve already registered for Kindergarten at the OCSB, this event is for you! It’s the perfect chance to see first-hand the vibrant, nurturing environment where your child will learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Kindergarten Open House Nights will be held in late February and March, with each school hosting their own event. No matter where you are in the registration process, all new families are invited to attend the event, even if you haven’t yet registered. You can use our School Locator tool to find the name of your neighbourhood Ottawa Catholic school.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to bring their children along to the Open House and let them explore the Kindergarten classrooms. Just a friendly reminder—parents are responsible for keeping an eye on their little ones during the event to ensure everyone has a fun and safe experience. What to Expect at Your Open House
- Meet the Team: School principals and educators will be there to greet you, answer your questions, and provide insight into your child’s day.
- An Introduction to Our School Community: The school’s Principal will give a brief presentation outlining key information about the Kindergarten program and what to expect during the school year.
- Step Inside Our Kindergarten Classrooms: Families will have the opportunity to visit the Kindergarten spaces. While the children explore and play in the classroom, our dedicated staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about the program, activities, and how we support each child’s unique learning journey.
A Virtual Sneak Peek: Explore Kindergarten from Home
We understand that families have busy schedules and may not be able to attend an Open House. We’re pleased to offer virtual 3D tours of our Kindergarten classrooms. These tours can help you get a feel for the space your child will be part of—all from the comfort of your own home. It’s a great way to start getting familiar with the setting where your child will make new friends, discover their strengths, and build the foundation for a bright future.
Looking Ahead: Stay & Play Event in May
For those who register their children for Kindergarten at the OCSB, we’re excited to invite you back in the first week of May for a special Kindergarten Stay & Play Event. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to experience a fun, interactive learning session, meet their new classmates, and further ease into their school experience before the school year begins. Once registered, your school will email you with more information.
