Looking for a fun and social way for your child to learn a new language or maintain and develop their home language? From July 3 to August 2, 2024, the Ottawa Catholic School Board’s Summer International & Indigenous Languages Program—Elementary is the perfect solution! With lively classroom discussions and engaging cultural, musical, and artistic activities, your child will be able to broaden their horizons and enhance their linguistic skills.
Language classes fill up quickly, so register your child by June 16, 2024, to secure a spot in the program!
Who is this program for?
Summer language classes are available for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students, regardless of their school board. These classes are ideal for those who want to improve their home language skills or learn new languages. The classes are open to all Ontario residents and offer an inclusive learning environment. Best of all, these classes are absolutely free for Ontario residents.

Virtual or In-Person
Virtual Classes
Virtual classes are offered in the morning and afternoon. They are delivered online using Google Meet for synchronous learning. Students are required to have a device (Chromebook, laptop) and access to the internet.
In-Person Classes
Our morning program offers in-person classes at various school locations around Ottawa, and afternoon camps are available at some locations.
Dates & Times
The program runs from Monday to Friday, July 3 – August 2, 2024.
- In-Person Morning Program: 9:00 am – 11:30 am (Early drop-off option: 8:00 am – 9:00 am)
- Afternoon Camps: 11:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Virtual Morning Program: 9:00 am – 11:30 am
- Virtual Afternoon Program: 12:30 pm – 3:00 pm
Pricing
The Summer International & Indigenous Languages Program is free to Ontario residents. A consumable fee of $10 per child will be applied for in-person classes.
Afternoon In-Person Camps and Early Drop-Off options are available at additional cost.
Out-of-province, international, and visitor students and visitors to Canada will be charged a tuition fee of $110 per language per child.
