Bus drivers play an integral role in our Ottawa Catholic School Board school community. Ensuring the safe transportation of OCSB students to school is of utmost importance, and it all starts with well-trained school bus drivers.
Virtual Preparation For School Bus Driver Training
That’s why the OCSB Continuing & Community Education Department’s Adult Learning & Skills Development, in partnership with OSTA, Employment Ontario and school bus companies in the Ottawa area, emphasizes preparing new school bus drivers to meet the challenges of the job. The Preparation For School Bus Driver Training course is offered through live, virtual Google Meets.
Who is this course for?
- Ontario residents at least 21 years of age
- Individuals with a G Class driver’s license
- Individuals with a clean driver abstract
- Individuals who can obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check through Ottawa Police Services.
- Individuals who are eligible to apply for a Class “B” license in the future

- Learn essential skills for school bus drivers
- Ride along with an experienced school bus driver
- Hear from guest speakers
- Develop communication and problem-solving skills
- Earn certificates

Course Details
The course begins on January 15, 2024, and ends on March 7, 2024. The course will be taught Monday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
