
The Municipal Elections are right around the corner. You can vote for your Zone Trustee on election day, October 24, 2022, or at advanced poles. Look for up-to-date information on the City of Ottawa’s website.
What does it take to be a School Board Trustee?
You must be…
- a Canadian citizen.
- at least 18 years old
- a Roman Catholic
- a resident within the jurisdiction of the board
- a supporter of the board (see directing school support)
- not legally prohibited from voting
- not disqualified by any legislation from holding school board office
Trustee candidates don’t need to live in their electoral zone. All candidates must complete and file a Nomination Paper with the City of Ottawa Elections Office. There is a fee to file the Nomination Paper.
What does a School Trustee do?
Your Trustee is your community’s representative on our school board. Trustees develop policies and procedures designed to ensure Ottawa Catholic Schools are vibrant, faith-filled learning communities. Who are the OCSB Trustee Candidates for the 2022 Municipal Elections?
You can see the current list of nominated candidates on the City of Ottawa website. If and when new candidates are nominated, they will be updated there.

October 21, 2022 | The last day for an individual, corporation, or trade union to file a registration notice as a third-party advertiser.Individuals, corporations, and trade unions have until 4:30 pm to file their registration notice. |
