Extended Day Program (EDP)

Extended Day Programs will open at select sites as of September 14, 2020. More information is forthcoming.

At this time we are unfortunately not able to open the Extended Day Program (EDP) at the following locations:

  • Chapel Hill
  • Divine Infant
  • Georges Vanier
  • OLOV
  • St. Anthony
  • St. Augustine
  • St. Catherine
  • St. Gabriel
  • St. John Paul ll
  • St. Leonard
  • St. Monica
  • St. Rose of Lima

Under the circumstances of COVID-19, the response to the need for child care from these school communities was extremely low.  This reality has rendered our cost-recovery programs unviable at this time.  It is our hope that we will be able to reopen the locations soon.  Until such time, please ensure you are registered on the Child Care Registry and Wait List with the City of Ottawa:

These programs operate with a recreational/educational focus. The daily program plan is developed by the staff and children and reflects the developmental needs and interests of the children in the group. Activities may include group games/sports, arts and crafts and drama. Activities and schedules are developed by staff and participants at the beginning of the year and changed as necessary. A light nutritious snack is provided both in the morning and the afternoon.

On all regular school days, the morning program operates from 7:00 am until regular school-yard supervision begins. The afternoon program operates from school dismissal time until 6:00 pm. Parents may register their children in either the morning, afternoon or both programs for 2-5 days per week. Programs will run from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm on all PD Days throughout the school year, and the designated week of March Break if sufficient enrollment is present. Please note that spaces are limited and fees for full days will be charged separately. Extended Day Programs are run in conjunction with the Full Day Kindergarten program. The Full Day Kindergarten program is currently being offered in all of our schools.

For general information about these programs, please call Early Learning Services at 613-224-4455, Ext 2382.

Please note there is a two week waiting period between the time you complete the online registration and the date your child may begin in the program. The system will indicate your child’s start date.

Information regarding EDP

Regarding September enrollment, we are currently awaiting updated guidelines for ratios, groups sizes, staffing etc. We hope to get those very soon so we can finalize plans for EDP registration. EDP registration information for the 2020/21 school year will be posted here shortly.

The daily fee for the morning program is $9.75. The daily fee for the afternoon program is $12.75. Families will also have the option to register for full days (PD days and March Break). This process will take place in September and the daily rate will be $35.00. Some City of Ottawa subsidies will be available in Extended Day Programs only.
