When we look back on our school experiences, it’s rarely the assignments we remember. It’s the people and how those people made us feel that stand out. The same rings true for our students today.
Your child will remember the educator who never gave up on them, who championed their success. The office administrator who quietly gave them an apple when they forgot their lunch. The custodian who knew their names and never failed to ask how their weekend was. The Principal who sang O’ Canada every morning even when they had strep throat and sounded like Kermit the Frog.
It is the people they will remember! So let’s take some time this month to acknowledge those difference-makers in your child’s life right now.
Brighten a day with a little “merci”
Never have your voices, actions, and encouragement been more valuable than during this on-going pandemic. So let’s say “merci” this month! Staff at the Ottawa Catholic School Board have been doing a fantastic job this year, pivoting around the never-ending challenges and curve-balls this pandemic has thrown at our schools. Let’s brighten someone’s day by saying, “merci!”
In honour of March being le Mois de la francophonie, we’re inviting you to join us as we practice French by saying “merci” to outstanding OCSB employees while also exercising our gratitude muscles!
Recognize an OCSB employee you’re thankful for by filling out this form by Friday, March 26, 2021. We’ll send that employee a copy of your submission to let them know the work they do has not gone unnoticed. On Friday, March 26, 2021, all of the recognized employees’ names will go into a draw for a chance to win an OCSB prize.
Anyone in our community (students, parents, relatives, neighbours, staff, community partners, etc.) can recognize any OCSB employee. You can also celebrate as many employees as you would like.
