You registered your child for Kindergarten at your local OCSB school in January, but school doesn’t start until September. So what do you do? Here are some tips to help get your child ready for Kindergarten!
- Take a 3D Tour! If you haven’t had a chance to explore a Kindergarten classroom online with your child, take advantage of one of these cold February days to do something fun with your little one from the comfort of your warm home! They’re going to want to do it over and over again.
- Sign up for the Supported School Readiness Program. This excellent program is available at 12 OCSB schools in partnership with the Licensed Home Child Care Network of Ottawa. The program is for children entering Kindergarten for the first time. You would receive a home visit and support from one of our Child Development Advisors leading up to and during the first weeks of school. For many kids, seeing a familiar face can reduce the amount of anxiety they might feel during those first few weeks of school. Register now to take full advantage of the program.
- Tell your friends. Our OCSB elementary schools are welcoming communities with room for children of all faiths to attend. We look forward to welcoming this next crop of difference-makers to your neighbourhood Catholic school. Register for Kindergarten today!
