Some of you have been asking what happened to professional development days this year, so here’s a quick overview to recap some of the changes we made to prepare staff and students for school this year. In short, educators will still have the same amount of PD days planned for the year; they just got shuffled around to provide staff with more time to reopen schools in September safely. Since the Province would not allow us to add more PD days to the year, this was the best solution for staff and students.
Kindergarten to grade 6 PD days
We moved the October 9 and April 23 PD days to the start of the year to safely reopen schools. October 9 and April 23 will now be regular school days for students in Kindergarten to grade 6.

Grade 7 and 8 PD days
We moved the October 9 and April 23 PD days to the start of the year to safely reopen schools. October 9 and April 23 will now be regular school days for students in grades 7 and 8.

Grade 9 to 12 PD days
We moved the April 23 and June 4 PD days to the start of the year to safely reopen schools. Fall graduations are planned for the October 9 PD day, so we did not move that day as we did for Kindergarten to grade 8. April 23 and June 4 will now be regular school days for students in grades 9 to 12.
