The Records Management Department responds to requests for information from the school community and general public. The main office processes requests for transcripts (when schools are unable to retireve the records), completes documentation attesting to the education of former students, and assists with special requests regarding the Board's corporate history.
Ontario Student Transcript (OST)
The Ontario Student Transcript (OST) provides an official and complete record of the student’s performance in Grades 9 to 12. Both successful and unsuccessful attempts at completing Grade 11 and 12 courses are recorded on the OST. The OST will also include a record of the achievement of exceptional students who have alternative learning expectations in an individualized, non-credit program.
To request an Ontario Student Transcript (OST) for the purposes of employment or education, please contact your last school of attendance. Schools require at least 7 business days to process requests for transcripts, and a $10 fee is required, payable by cash or cheque only. Please note that schools are unable to reproduce diplomas.
Eligibility of English Instruction in Quebec
In order to register your child in an English school in the province of Quebec, the Government of Quebec requires that you provide confirmation that one of the student's parents or grandparents received the majority of his or her elementary instruction in English in a school in Canada.
If you require documentation in order to enroll your child in a Quebec school, you must be able to confirm your last school of attendance. This school and governing school board has your archived your Ontario Student Record (OSR). If your last school of attendance is a Catholic school belonging to the Ottawa Catholic School Board, please contact the Board's Records Management Administrator directly (contact info top-right). These requests take at least 10 days to process, and may take longer depending on the availability and accessibility of records. A $10 fee is required for producing this signed and sealed documentation, payable by cash or cheque only.

If you are a former student applying to an Ontario College, you may request your transcript through the Ontario College Application Service (OCAS). This service enables your electronic transcript to reach its college destination quicker, and allows you to track online the status of both your application and transcript request. Simply go to their website, pay the college application and transcript fees, and OCAS will send your transcript to the Ontario colleges you have selected. Students of permanently closed schools of the Ottawa Catholic School Board may also use this service. Please note that students currently in high school need not request a transcript when making application to a college through OCAS, as this continues to be an automatic process of the high school.
The Historical Committee meets regularly to discuss ways in which to preserve the history and culture of Catholic Education in the Ottawa area. The Historical Committee, along with numerous other resources, undertook a large-scale project in 2006 to document 150 years of Catholic education in the Ottawa-Carleton area.
